Captain FanPlastic
environmental literacy program
Educational Activities
The Captain Fanplastic project is an environmental literacy program that uses graphic storytelling, creativity and playful activities to educate elementary school children about the impact of plastic pollution. The educational program is being implemented in South African schools and on the islands of the African Continent.
Here in Cape Verde, the project has already been implemented in 14 schools, 10 on the island of Santiago and 4 on the island of Boa Vista through the BIOS Association.
The project is coordinated and funded by our partner Soapbox
Plastic Waste
In Cape Verde, plastic waste is of an alarming dimension, both in terms of its impact on marine ecosystems and communities and their effective management. Therefore, the educational program was inserted as part of the awareness actions of the “Plastic Free Cape Verde” ADAD’s project.
